[Shinjo Qulan]

"Ah... Hai, Iuchi-san." The normally reckless woman was very content with following others around until she got comfortable with the fact that there'd be no more open plains for her to ride her horse, Shien. How she'll be hauled up in this ship with a bunch of sweaty men... And apparently women.

She turned her head towards the guy apparently named 'Happy'. Half-listening to him, she merely wondered who in the world would name their child 'Happy'.

[Iuchi Rinzuki]

"That would be quite acceptable, thank you." Rinzuki bows to the crewman and glances back towards Qulan, her expression one of mild amusement. "Would you care to join me, Shino-san? I am not certain as to your own experience in these matters, but I have never spent the night aboard a ship before."

[Shinjo Qulan]

"Ah, that would be wonderful, Iuchi-san." Qulan snapped out of her odd train of thought, following at an appropriate distance behind the Iuchi. "I have to admit... This is my first time."

[Iuchi Rinzuki]

"No worries," Rinzuki says with a faint smirk. "I am sure that we will be able to figure things out with a minimal amount of fumbling and thrashing about."

With that, she descends into the hold...

The ashigaru ran a hand through his hair as he was promptly ignored, but took it in stride. It gave him some time to regain his composure. He met the gunso's darkly amused look and shrugged while the Unicorn weren't looking. Happy bowed a second time, "This way, ma'ams..."

He gestured for the women to follow him, picking a path through the bustling activity of the ship to the closest stairway leading to the women's side of the ship.

[Akodo Jishaku]

As the two Unicorn disappear into the ship another new face makes his way up the boarding ramp, a bow slung over one shoulder and a travelling pack over the other. The light sea breeze catches his hair and with a smile the young Lion bushi takes a deep breath of the fresh, salty air. Looking around for someone who might be in charge Jishaku spots the Gunso and takes a moment to look her up and down with a soldier's calculating glance. He moves closer and bows.

"Akodo Jishaku reporting for duty."

[Moshi Kaimenko]

Kaimenko watched the bustle of the ship with a critical eye, sparing a glance for the Lion when he presented himself. There was a coiled waiting in the way the woman carried herself. She shifted unconsciously, balancing upon the gently shifting deck with an ease born of practice.

"Moshi Kaimenko, gunso," came the terse reply, followed but an equally brusque greeting and instructions, "Welcome aboard. Stairs are over there, men's side is marked. You can hand me your marching orders or give it to the Captain yourself, don't care either way.

[Akodo Jishaku]

"Well met, Gunso-sama." Reaching into his kimono he produces a scroll case and offers it to the Moshi. "I'm sure the Captain has more important things to do than receive the orders of every new recruit." The hint of a wry smile appears on his lips as he notes the ease with which Kaimenko holds herself on the shifting deck. "Do you require anything of me, or should I just get out of your way for the moment?"

[Moshi Kaimenko]

She gives him an odd look as she takes the papers, but makes no comment regarding her Captain and his habits. His smile, alas, was not returned. "Best you stow your gear. Pick up anything you think you'll need from the port. Be back by sundown."

Yes. Warm and welcoming as a dead fish.

[Akodo Jishaku]

"Hai, Gunso-sama." He bows with soldierly formality, takes two steps back and then makes his way across the deck toward the stairs. I think I like her. Reminds me of uncle Tetsuo, though with more charisma.

[Agasha Qian-Fan]

Next to appear was the slight figure of a young . . . man, obviously a Phoenix by the flame like colours of . . . his clothing. The gangplank is navigated with ease and a properly polite bow is made.

"Agasha Qian-Fan, priest and healer, reporting for duty, Moshi-sama."

His Order papers were already in hand to be proferred once he had been acknowledged.

[Moshi Kaimenko]

She looks the Phoenix up and down, noting his dress and ... delicateness of appearance. Damn. I would have pegged him for an orchid breeder.

A brow slowly lofts, speaking whole libraries about what she thought of the Agasha. "Moshi Kaimenko. Gunso. Follow the Lion."

Kaimenko takes the papers and jerks her head in the direction that Jishaku was going.

[Agasha Qian-Fan]

A nod of acceptance as the papers were taken.

"As you wish, Moshi-sama."

He followed after the Lion, Mantis woman already forgotten as he set off across the deck.

Wonder how the orchids are doing? The gardener had better be taking good care of them while I'm gone.

[Moshi Kaimenko]

She watched the Phoenix swish away and just contained an eye-roll. Kaimenko couldn't shake the feeling that she would need them later. The Captain really needed to make amends with the Vice Admiral. The Moshi shakes her head before blowing an ear-splitting whistle, summoning one of the heimen on deck. She hands the man the papers, "For the Captain," and returns to keeping an eye on the progress of loading the ship.

[Hida Musasha]

A man, large for Rokugani, but small for a Hida crosses the dock to the gang plank. Bowing, "Hida Musasha reporting." In one hand, he holds a large armor case...that should be held with two hands. In the other he is all but crushing a small document case. "I seek my quarters to stow my gear, and wish to know when I am expected for duty. I have need to go back to town for a few provisions, but have no room left to carry them." The pack on his back looks like a mountain that would crush most men beneath it, but his steady feet stand firm and his back is unbowed.

[Moshi Kaimenko]

"Moshi Kaimenko. Gunso," came the terse reply as she relieved him of the half-crushed documents. The shugenja gave the Crab the once over and jerked her head towards the stairs, "Head down that way, sides are marked. Pick a berth and see if there's room for more shi- personal items."

"Work starts tomorrow," Kaimenko adds, almost as an afterthought.

[Hida Musasha]

The Hida shrugs, "They aren't personal items, really. I simply lack a bar of soap and a whetstone at the moment. I consider both important for the morale of the crew." He bows again, "Moshi-Gunso." He heads below deck to stow his shi-personal belongings.

[Shiba Nozomi]

Practically escaping from here, the smallest wisp of a girl alights the ship, and glances about. Her milky-white eyes take in everything before her in a warm gaze, and the faintest of smiles flutters over her lips. Behind her, a porter follows, placing a wooden chest down at the top of the gangplank.

"Tha's as far as I'll carry, Phoenix-sama," he says to her. Nodding, Nozomi slips a coin into his subtly outstretched hand before he turns to leave.

Spotting the Moshi, she approaches and bows rather smartly, leaving the chest where it was placed. "Shiba Nozomi reporting for duty, Sir."

[Moshi Kaimenko]

The Hida almost got a smile out of the tight-lipped woman before a Shiba showed up with a box.

"Moshi Kaimenko. Gunso." She was beginning to sound like one of those annoying birds they taught to talk. Her lips curls slightly in disgust at the thought even as she looks down at the Shiba. And down. Kaimenko was used to looking over the heads of most women, but this... this was just ridiculous.

"Papers?"

[Shiba Nozomi]

Before the words were almost entirely out of her mouth, the Moshi would find that Nozomi's papers were being placed carefully into them.

"An honor, Moshi-gunzo. I hope that your day has been pleasant?" The words come out quickly, and have the distinct tinge of possibly being rehearsed. Obsessively.
